Jerusalem Creek Bush Walk

Jerusalem Creek Bush Walk

This really is the easiest access into the Barrington Tops you have and in my view one of the best walks as well.

Name: Jerusalem Creek
Activity Type: Bush Walk
Location: Barrington Tops National Park
Difficulty: Easy
 Length: 4 Kms
 Time to Complete: 2 Hours
Circuit / Return : Return
Distance from Curlew Cottage : 17Km

How To Get There

Turn right onto Hooke Street when leaving Curlew Cottage or turn left into Hooke Street from Dowling Street (main street) at the obelisk.

Stay on this road and follow sign posts towards Chicester Dam for about 15 Kms, just after a very windy section Chicester Dam Road does a sharp left and straight ahead is a dirt road Wangat Trig Road.

Head along Wangat Trig for about 2 Km and there is a signpost on the left, “Jerusalem Creek Parking”. Park here to start your walk.

If you’re planning to have a picnic as well then you might want to drive on for another Km or so and you’ll see the Jerusalem Creek reserve on your left. Start your walk from that end so you can enjoy your picnic on the return from your walk in the reserve.

Highlights

  • meanders along Jerusalem Creek
  • Waterfalls, a viewing platform at the largest
  • right in the Barrington Tops World Heritage National Park
  • many different birds
  • Big, big trees
